The toddler-preschool program is a family-style multi-aged program for children ages one (must be walking) through five years old. Toddlers and preschoolers spend the bulk of the day playing together, with a few periods of pull out time for age specific programming. The daily routine involves a morning greeting time (arrival time is between 7:00-9:00), music time, free play, snack, small group time, outdoor play, lunch, nap, free play and outdoor play again, with a closing time of 5:30pm. The toddler ratio is four children per one teacher and the preschool ratio is seven children per teacher. Developmental assessments are conducted on each child and two parent teacher conferences are held every year. Family support services provide families with parenting support in the form of home visits, playgroups, parent education offerings, and a parent lending library. 2) The after school kid’s club program is housed in the elementary wing of the Northport Public School.
